@arnthorla Thank you so much ‘arnthorla’. You have indeed saved me so much time. A excellent intention for a discussion, utterly wasted.

  2. Vaipan says:

I reckon persons criticizing the research these men do must as a preliminary both state their area of research and a concise explanation of why it’s more vital.

these are horrible educators they no nothing about about writing

  9. live1excellence says:

Elbow, Hillocks, and Bazerman have done a fantastic benefit to the field of composition, teachers of writing, and their students. Chuck’s comments on writer’s making local judgment (around 21:00 minutes) point to the difficulties involved in writing research.

  10. staylopictures says:

    nearly completely garbage

  11. arnthorla says:

A waste of time. The speakers make sense in reverse order. 1st is full of shit and 3rd makes a few useful comments. But all that should be said in 5 minutes not 50 plus. This might be more useful for some teachers.

  12. xkxfl5r says:

2:18 to 2:58: visibly, this is the possessed demonic version of Charles Bazerman WHO WILL CARVE YOUR FACE OFF AND EAT YOUR SOUL. He’s a lot nicer in person and when he’s giving the keynote address at CCCC.

  13. TheTopBloke says:

This is by far the most terrible UC video I’ve ever seen. It’s not for writers, it’s for academics who reckon they’re writers. An implementation in mental masturbation.

  14. djweinstein says:

Viewers should be warned: this video is long on preliminaries. Though, I thank its producers and participants for the subsequent insight: the most satisfactory writing, appears to result from sensitive, experienced human judgement exercised in different ways at different points in a writing administer, and most productively in the presence of a caring and curious audience.

  15. liminal64 says:

@Island…..what do you know about comp research or the teaching of writing? These are 3 of our best scholars, and their work is worthy of fantastic respect. Go be an ignorant troll somewhere else.

  16. ISLANDOFSANDPUB says:

Should be called fifty years of bullshit and why no one learns to write at school.

  17. bongolongo says:

The host is intolerably poor at speaking. He’s rushing and really without rhythm!
